V & S Sandwich Shop: Your Go-To Spot for Flavorful Sandwiches in Reading, PA

I've been getting food from here my whole life. They have my favorite steak sandwich. Its a great sandwich shop. No pomp and circumstance, just good comfort food.

Consistently the best sandwiches. We compared from all philly areas and while great cheesesteaks are to be found, V&S remain the best for flavor, quality and cost. After two plus weeks of barely eating, down with FluA, when my husband brought me back from my second trip from the ED of our local hospital for breathing treatments and fluids, he asked what I wanted for dinner. Hands down! V&S!! Shillington. Humbling myself to share my pre meal attire. Best part is I’ll have a couple meals from my return to food!!

Hey, I'll admit that I grew up eating here and there is a special place in my heart for V & S sandwiches, but it is just as good today as it was 30 years ago. Cheesesteak is my favorite! Delicious, filling food for a reasonable price. Don't forget to take a number off the wall to secure your place in the ordering line!

Some of the finest Italian subs in the area. I saw some nightmarish pictures of their subs posted on various social media, but I never had a bad experience with V&S. I still remember getting their subs as a kid all those years ago. Not saying they are perfect every time, but they have been consistently good for as long as I can remember. Tons of meat on good quality rolls. What more can you ask for? The hot dogs left something to be desired. Shriveled messes. They might be on the menu as a tribute to an old, loyal customer who has long been deceased. Because, man, they are rough. But who orders hot dogs from sub shops anyways? You're lookin' at him.

This is the only place that actually makes my food exactly how I like it and they do it with a smile. I have never once had a complaint with my food! I am a very fussy eater so I like my hot sandwiches made a certain way, they don't even look at me funny when I start telling them my order. And the fries, Ive never had fries as good as these! I must get fries with every single order! Food is made fresh to order every time. If I order a head, I never have to wait when I pull up. I love this place and recommend them to everyone! Update: Still absolutely LOVE this particular V&S! I order daily often maybe 3-4 times a month if I can. The one gentleman knows my order by heart and makes it absolutely perfect every single time! I love how nice this crew is and the effort they put into making their customers happy! Still my favorite sandwich shop!

Delicious V& S Italian sandwich hard roll with everything make sure to ask for the peppers. Delicious! Open 73 years so you’re in for a treat with a Reading tradition! Cheese fries are also delicious Limited vegan choose but vegetarian is fine

It's been quite a few years since I've eaten at a V&S. It was definitely in the rotation years ago when I was in the area. The sandwiches are still pretty good. It just seemed like the place could use a little updating.

The best Sausage peppers&onion -Roast beef and Cheese steak sandwiches.Packed from end to end. Sinking spring and shillington v&s. Next is their Gizmo. Worth the drive. Great service!
